3D Scanning & Printing
- Artc 3D Scanner: A high precision scanner that can capture and render complex geometry, sharp edges and small details. The lab has used this device to scan arrow heads, for instance.
- Kinect: This is a motion sensor device created by Microsoft for Xbox 360 which uses a webcam to enable users to control and interact with their console/computer.
- 3D Printers: These have been around for decades. 3D printers uses material and add layer by layer. The Vizlab has access to a variety of 3D printers, big and small, and uses them to create items, such as 3D printed versions of previously scanned objects from the real world, like arrowheads, or computer designed objects which can be brought to life.
