Written by Brikken Jensen Each year we hear more and more about 3D printing and it's growing uses. This widely popular technology is used in the automobile industry, aerospace industry, medical industry, and apparently the theatre industry. Yep, 3D printing is applicable on Broadway. As a total theatre geek myself, I was really pleased and a little surprised to learn about this, however, it's a brilliant application. Set designers such as the one in this video can use a small 3D printer to print miniature furniture, staircases, and other set pieces that help them and others to visualize a set before construction. Another reason to check out the video, is that the presenter, Kacie Hultgren, is a founder of the GREAT theatre company in St. Cloud, MN who then went on to Broadway and has now found an interest in 3D printing. Go St. Cloud!
